Remember those soothing tan and gray balls of yarn I showed you a few weeks ago? The ones that were going to become the next square of the lizard ridge afghan? I did not imagine it was going to turn out like this. I would never have guessed turquise and pistachio were hiding in there.
I am not complaining mind you. This might be my favorite square yet. That old adage "you can't tell a book by it's cover" certainly applies to balls of yarn too. The beginning of square #7 is below. I started it today. Who knows what colors are coming up next.
That's what I am loving about this afghan. Each square is a new little project. I am totally captivated with it right now. I just want to sit and knit all day long... and let's face it, with all this snow around I see no reason not to give in to the impulse.
Your squares are really turning out pretty. I bought some variegated yarn with the hopes that it would do this-instead it just looked like mud!

I wondered what was hidden at t he heart of those balls. I am not changing ends, just going on through and the way the gradations work out is really nice, that is really great yarn.

i love the colors in the last pic, beautiful! and i can't argue with your last sentence, there's no need to go out in all that snow! the last time i had that much snow here, i was just started to dig into your sister's remains of the day class and i used the time stuck inside to whip up my journal. :)

Those colors in the first photo are totally my livingroom decor. And the photo - WOW, love how those colors POP, POP, POP. Perhaps I need a make-over. Nature-inspired or contemporary ... argh, I can never decide. Thanks for the inspiration.
