Home-made pizza and a bottle of Chateau St. Michele Indian Wells Merlot is my idea of a dreamy night at home.
Chris likes to experiment with different pizza crust recipes and I am an agreeable taste tester. I have a very refined palate and can easily pick up on subtle differences that might need further refining.
As for the toppings, I see no reason to mess with perfection. Red sauce, basil, fresh mozzarella and maybe a bit of some kind of aged cheese I have on hand. Chris likes hamburger, onion, an pepperoni on his. We both agree that a little bit of honey on the side to serve on the crusts is a must. If you have never tried it, I am going to insist you do it this week and let me know what you think.
