Around Thanksgiving my favorite sandwich is the cranky turkey. Grilled french bread, cream cheese, cranberry sauce, and turkey. Yum. Yum. So when I saw this recipe for spicy tomato jam in the newspaper last week I immediately thought about sandwich spread.
So far I have decided to try this on a grilled cheese, with cream cheese and roast beef on sour dough, and on baguette with brie as an appetizer.
In case you have ideas of how you want to use it, here is the recipe. I cut it in half and got that jar pictured above. I ended up letting it boil for about 10 minutes and stirred frequently during that time to be sure it was going to get thick enough for my liking. I used 1/2 tsp of red pepper flakes and it is nice and spicy.
