Any weekend in October is a good weekend for the annual pilgrimage to Schaake's pumpkin patch. This year we went out early in the morning when there was a little frost left on the pumpkins.
I like watching all the excitement and anticipation of finding the best pumpkin ever. There are certainly plenty of them out there to choose from. Big kids, little kids, medium sized kids. Everyone is a kid when it comes to a pumpkin patch.
If you need a snack it's never too early to open up a bag of freshly made kettle corn. I have heard it tastes extra good if you are wearing an orange skirt and pink boots.
All the people at Schaake's are helpful. Wheelbarrow too heavy to get up on the scale by yourself? "Let me get that for you ma'm".
After we got home, while Chris fixed breakfast, I did the pumpkin arranging.
Pumpkin arranging is darn close to pumpkin picking on the fun-o-meter.
