Carry the One is one of the books I purchased when I did my tour of independent bookstores in December. It had been on my "books to check out" list for over a year. I am happy to report I have completed it and here is what I think....
This story begins with a tragedy - a young child is hit by a car full of people leaving a wedding. The child dies and the book is the recounting of how the lives of the people in the car were affected by the event. I don't want to spoil anything by revealing too much, I will just say it makes for compelling reading. I LOVED the ending. I haven't been this satisfied with the way a book wraps up in a while. It would be great to take with you on your next plane or train or bus trip.
If you are going on such a trip anytime soon, and want to read it, send me an e-mail that includes your name and address and I would be happy to mail my copy to you. You give it to someone else when you are done. If more than one of you is interested I will make Chris draw a name. Just to keep it fair.
***Congratulations Amber! Chris drew your name. The book is on it's way to YOU.
