My family's traditional remedy for the common cold is to eat a bowl of spaghetti with garlic sauce which is not cooked. You'll reek of garlic for days but who cares?Beats any over the counter stuff, trust me.

Smash 4 medium size cloves of garlic in bottom of bowl.
Add 1 LG can roma tomatoes, squished up, include the juice.
Add basil and oregano, more basil than oregano. I prefer dry herbs for this sauce.
Add olive oil, approx 1/8 to1/4 Cup ( I don't measure)
Add enough Parmesan grated cheese to cover the surface of the sauce.
Slice and fry rounds of zucchini until golden brown.
Pasta of choice, cooked to al dente~~ I use angel hair

Allow sauce to set at room temp for at least an hour, serve over pasta, stir to coat each strand of pasta...place zucchini on top. Have a nice crusty bread to dunk in the sauce at the bottom of your bowl then say goodbye to common cold. This also keeps vampires at bay.
