The tomatoes have been planted for exactly 16 days now. Maybe a bit earlier than last year, if memory serves correctly, which it often does not. As for they specifics on the plants... because it performed so well last year, we bought a "celebrity" again, and since we also needed to experiment with something completely different, we selected a "pink girl". It's supposed to be low acid. I'm not sure what that really means in terms of flavor. I guess we're going to find out.
It amazes me how quickly they grow. There are already some blossoms starting to appear.
If you have tomatoes it only makes sense to plant some basil. I wish there was a nice Italian lady who lived next door that made smoked buffalo mozzarella. If there was, I would give her tomatoes and basil and she could give me cheese and we could have Insalata Caprese every night from August until first frost.
