My idea of a good book is one with a decent plot line, likable characters, and one in which the author doesn't continually use 40 words when 10 would do. I just finished listening to a book that meets all these requirements. Flight Behavior by Barbara Kingsolver. I had read two previous books by her (The Poisonwood Bible and Prodigal Summer) so when Pam recommended it after she saw my post about the monarch butterflies I requested it from the library.
This is a fictional account of the monarch butterflies wintering over in Appalachia instead of Mexico. I like it when I can pick up some useful knowledge while I am being entertained. The audiobook is read by the author, who does a great job bringing Dellarobia Turnbow (the main character) to life. This would make a great holiday read. Furthermore, it's the perfect book to have around to enjoy along with your Thanksgiving leftovers. Recommended.
