If, based on this photo, you think Chris and I played in a fort on the back deck this past weekend, you would be wrong. If you are speculating that it was time to wash the quilt and I wanted to get some fresh air blowing on it, and we have no clothes line so I used chairs, you would be 100% correct. I swept the deck first.
Other happenings over the weekend included the maple tree out front finally starting to turn, and the last of the "hard as rocks" green tomatoes getting picked and brought inside so we could dump the container before it snows. It is November after all. High time to be putting containers to rest for the winter.
On the cooking front, soup was made. If you think what you see below is butternut squash bisque, you would not be right. If you guessed that it is a concoction made up from leftover canned yams, carrots, onions, peanut butter and curry, & is called "carol's version of creamy thai carrot sweet potato soup" you get a prize. Many substitutions were called for because I decided to make it at the last minute and there was no way I was going to the store. It tasted very decent right after I made it. I think it would be fair to say in has an unusual flavor. In a good sort of way.
I'll let you know how I feel about it for sure, after I eat it for lunch for the next 4 days.
