Three pots of pansies seemed like just the right number to me this year. One out back and two out front.
I have to do something to make up for the lack of returning tulips out front this year. Squirrels? Not enough phosphorus? Poor drainage? You pick. The solution is the same no matter the problem. Plant more. One of you remind me about that the first of October will you? Please and thank you.
In other gardening news... the Japanese maple is leafing out and the grape hyacinths are doing well. There are a bunch of teeny tiny itty bitty poppies starting to sprout from the seeds that were sprinkled last year.
AND - next week is the first Saturday Farmers Market for the year. It's like Christmas in the springtime. Only better. Yes, I said that, out loud.
