The rocky coast of Oregon certainly afforded some lovely views of water. AND the walks along the beach could not be beat. Observing the habits of sea birds was quite entertaining as well.
But I would be remiss if I did not also report on the lovely hikes that are to be enjoyed in the old growth forests. We saw amazing Sitka spruces and western hemlocks not to mention ferns and all manner of interesting growth on the forest floor.
One of the nicest things about these hikes were well marked trail heads and good descriptions of the skill level required (some of the hikers in our party might argue with me on this point, but you can trust me). The photos above of the forest are either from the trails around the Cape Perpetua visitors center or the trail around the campground at Beverly Beach state park. You can't go wrong with any of these.
