So cute! My daughter has recently learned to knit; I'll pass this pattern along to her. :)

The mittens are wonderful. I love the fingerless ones.........way cool. Have a great day.

Chrissy

How about some fingerless gloves with mitten flaps? Then you could be completely cosy when you aren't rummaging.

There are lots of patterns on Yahoo answers. Great for photographers in the field.

I have no illusions about how tricky this is going to get...cables!!! Yikes. Thank you for your generous link to the pattern. I will definitely try these. Now, off to find my teeny tiny cable needle :)

Joan

I've never made a pair of mittens...have knit the fingerless ones...super easy and useful where I live...our winters are very mild compared to most parts of the country...sweatshirt hoodie is about all I wear in winter...well, with shirt and pants too!

So many are afraid/intimidated by cables. I'm here to verify that they are no harder to knit than a regular row of stitches...BELIEVE !!

I love Merino yarn, baby Alpaca, any of the soft yarns. Haven't tried this particular brand.

Thanks for the pattern!

I always wondered if people ever really wore fingerless gloves in cold places. Now I know!

Carol

Listen! the absolutely best thing about cables is they make you look like a knitting GENIUS and they are so easy. It's the same reason I like knitting socks in public on double point needles. People are amazed by your incredible skill, and yet... easy! Mitten flaps. YES! I have seen those and will have to give them a try.

I PROMISED myself I would not get into any other projects than the many I have already started - until I saw this! While I do not wear gloves here in the desert I have grand kids in the frozen north east who do! Somehow it does not seem right to at least knit one thing in the winter!
