I have come to the conclusion that plants can read minds.
I do not know how else to explain the sudden appearance of a flower on this poor pitiful mandevilla.
Somewhere in the depths of it's roots this plant must have sensed that I intended to stop watering it and put it out if it's misery.
It is the only way I can explain it's sudden perkiness. I wonder if I can sharpen and specify my messages to particular plants? I want to be sure no other plants get the messages intended for that bindweed that continues to torment me.
Ah, sweet plant.

Have you tried threatening to sic the rabbits on the bindweed? (It may not work since rabbits never touch the stuff. grrrr. but maybe the bindweed doesn't know.)

I just read something online about plants not having ears so can't hear so you are wasting playing music for them or talking to them. HMMMM. The article didn't mention plant mind reading ability. Research is needed. I guess I'll turn off my YoYo Ma CD that I've been playing for my plants.

After I water my pots of flowers, herbs, tomatos and green peppers, I encourage them. Now everyone, I want you to grow beautiful flowers and fruit. Have a lovely day.
The basil, parsley and mint have agreed.
