With wind gusts up to 40 miles an hour (I am not kidding), this came in handy today. The Umaro throw is pefect for wrapping up in when the wind is howling and you want to lounge around and catch up on your flipboard reading.
On Saturday morning I took out the instruction manual for the steam cleaner and got down to business. It did a fine job of blocking for this big (50" x 67") project. Much easier than soaking and spinning which is what I usually do. I am considering getting some blocking wires though for the next time I do an afghan. I like the edges to be nice and straight which means using a gazillion pins. If you use wires let me know what you think.
I like that the cream color does not in any way detract from the beautiful pattern and will go perfectly anywhere I decide to use it.
This is the largest piece of knitting I have attempted. The size 15 needles and bulky yarn makes it go pretty quickly though. Harrisville heathered bulky yarn is what I used, in case you were wondering.
I love it when I finish a project... mostly because it means I am going to start a new one (or two).
Absolutely stunning!

I have admired that Brooklyn Tweed pattern for ages...I had no idea it was knit on such large needles or bulky yarn...and it's huge! Does it weigh a ton?
It's absolutely beautiful and you should be very proud of yourself. I love to finish something, a very rare occurrence around here. I must have 5-6 UFO's (unfinished objects) in the closet.
Enjoy your afghan, it's just lovely. What's jumping on the needles next?
