It's pretty impressive up close too.
The shot I did not get was of the 3 Beloit college students sitting on rocks recording observations in their orange field guides. I talked to a young woman who was sketching the tower. She told me their recordings were a part of the geology field course requirement. I did not ask her if I had to be enrolled to get one of those orange field guides, but I wanted to.
