When Mary Ann was here I got my new journal broken in with some sketches of kitchen utensils.
And then I got this idea that I should make a map of Palm Springs, location of Art Retreat #2 (which is coming up in 6 days). I have seen so many interesting drawings of maps. They look fun and simple to draw. Right up my alley. So I consulted a real map and set about defining my perimeters and inclusion criteria, and then I got started.
It was fun and it wasn't terribly complicated. But as I look at the completed page I am struck by something. Perhaps you will agree.
What I have created is a game-board. Not a map. All I need now are some miniature cars.
Looks like a fun game! I love maps. This one is great!

Love the idea of journal pages full of game boards-real and imagined. Clue, Monopoly, Trivial Prusuit, Candy Crush and games I can make up as I journal.

Cut & paste some cars from mags, calendars, etc. I have had a life long love affair with maps. Love them, especially those arial exploded maps that show the buildings, features in a 3-D type rendering. Too fun.
My folks lived in Palm Springs for many years at Canyon Country Club. Been going there since the 60's. I'm familiar with all the roads/streets on your map. Have a great time on your retreat.
