Home-made pizza and a bottle of Chateau St. Michele Indian Wells Merlot is my idea of a dreamy night at home.
Chris likes to experiment with different pizza crust recipes and I am an agreeable taste tester. I have a very refined palate and can easily pick up on subtle differences that might need further refining.
As for the toppings, I see no reason to mess with perfection. Red sauce, basil, fresh mozzarella and maybe a bit of some kind of aged cheese I have on hand. Chris likes hamburger, onion, an pepperoni on his. We both agree that a little bit of honey on the side to serve on the crusts is a must. If you have never tried it, I am going to insist you do it this week and let me know what you think.

I'd love to be a taste tester in your kitchen. My folks had Italian/Pizza restaurants beginning in the 1950's thru 1970's. Thank goodness my dad gave the recipe for pizza to me...it's the standard I hold all others to.
I love red sauce, mozzarella cheese, basil. I'd love to have a brick oven in the back yard to cook various things in. Other toppings once in a blue moon is OK.
I've never tried honey on pizza crust...did you come up with this addition or find it in Italy, or is it unique to KS?

Does take-out count? Guess I know what we'll try for dinner tonight. Honey...ooooh la la.

When you come to Abq, you'll get hooked on Dion's greek and ranch for dipping sauce.

Looks delicious! My sister just texted me the other day to say she made beer bread pizza crust the other night. Its on my list to try this week. 2 c. flour, a bit less than 1/2 c. sugar, and 1/2 a beer, extra flour or beer to keep it from sticking to hands. Rub with olive oil, add toppings and bake at 300.

I sure do like that brand of wine. Not sure about the honey on the pizza crust, but will try it as I have liked a few other things you've mentioned. Pumpkin oatmeal for one. When I first moved to Texas I couldn't believe how many Native Texans dipped their pizza in ranch dressing.
