A small sampling of journal pages from our trip to Summerland. I have become completely enamored with drawing leaves and shells.
You may notice that I have labeled everything. I like to be helpful. In addition to leaves and shells and pots of geraniums I decided that I, like my sister, must take on drawing the completely magical art of Nathalie Lete. Mary Ann's on the left, mine on the right. Since I drew my hen a little bigger I decided it needed sturdier feet.
If you have never sat around a table with 3 other people doing a timed exercise where you have to sketch and color a Starkist Tuna Fiestaware salt container in exactly 15 minutes you haven't lived. Seriously! You must do it. Marti, Nancy, and Jennifer please send me a photo of the sketches you do at your next lunch meeting.
No one should deny themselves the pure pleasure of drawing.
Drawing is almost as much fun as walking on the beach, unless you don't have a beach close by, under those circumstances the principle of inverse theory applies. That means drawing becomes more fun than walking on the beach.
Thanks so much for sharing so may of your pages with us... it's really making me even more excited for Sketchbookery!!!!!
