I saw cute girls with purses and cute girls on bikes at the farmers market on Saturday.
There were also scads of georgeous looking tomatoes. All makes and models. Of which I bought none because I am sleeping with a tomato growing expert these days.
My favorite find at the market this week was ...
... beautiful, tender, lettuce. In AUGUST. In Kansas. Unheard of. My mouth must have been hanging open because this nice lady just smiled and handed me a bag to fill. I will be back to this booth again.
This is the kind of lettuce that you want to make a very simple salad with. Lettuce, a sprinkle of nuts, a few raisins, maybe some feta or goat cheese and a very light hand with the vinaigrette that has a hint of dijon mustard in it.
I also visited Josie's posies, bought some sage to go with more spaghetti squash, and found what I think are the last of the peaches. More about them later.
I have lettuce to eat right now. Plus zinnias and sunflowers to draw. Happy Sunday.
The colors of those flowers are intoxicating!

I hope that it was a yummy salad! The description that you gave sounds delicious. The flowers are beautiful as well, so I look forward to some drawings of them coming sometime soon! xx
