We went to see "The Hundred Foot Journey" last weekend. On the opening weekend no less! That might be a first for us. If you like France, and you like food, and you like Helen Mirren... go and see it.
We spent 2 perfectly lovely hours being entertained while we watched. It's a "nice" movie (as Angie would say) even if it is predictable. Sometimes predictable, and sweet, and enjoyable is just the kind of 2 hour escape I need.
Six more movies to go to make my "one a month for 2014" resolution come to pass. I think I can, I think I can....
We were set to go to this movie today but alas the weather got cooler and we are saving for the next heat wave which will arrive soon enough.
I am sure I will love it.

I saw this movie and thought the same thing... it's the perfect way to be entertained.... you leave with a good feeling in your heart. Have you seen Chef? I really enjoyed that one too.

Yes, a nice, enjoyable movie is just a treat sometimes. Good for the summer soul.

This looks really good based on the previews I've seen, so glad to know you enjoyed it. Already on my Netflix queue.

Oh, this sounds like it's right up my street! I love food, Helen & France. Just the ticket, & yes, "nice" is a treat. I've added it to my list. I want to see the new Meryl Streep movie too. And the one with Diane Keaton & Michael Douglas.

Maybe I hold Mr. Spielberg up to an impossible standard, because I felt a tad robbed. Can't really put it in words, but it was a bit long because as charming as the cast was I never felt connected or compelled to care one way or the other.
The first comment I have been getting a lot is that this isn't a movie for teens... that I will give you. However, please note I loved The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel, and unlike my teen counterparts I was not disappointed or misled by the title. Philomena was another favorite as was the Book Thief. Don't get me wrong my mum drug me to the Expendables movie and I was amused, but now I have no need for big, loud, shoot 'em up movies until 2020.

The last sentence was suppose to convey how I do enjoy manly movies in addition to the charming variety, but as always my fingers and brain do not like to proofread so post got pushed before I could read my comment back.
