This is my latest stack of books from the library. It's a pile for flippin' through. There may, or may not be, much reading involved. I don't have to finish any of them if I don't want to. I may decide I only want to look at the pictures. I didn't spend a lot of time deciding at the library if I should or should not get them. What's to think about? They are all free for the looking. In the privacy of my own home.
This is the kind of stack I like to have around to look at while I am watching a bit of television after dinner, or when I am drinking a big steaming mug of coffee on a cool October morning. I never know what I might run across while I am looking. I figure at my present rate of speed I can continue to pick 3 cookbooks a month from the library and never worry about running out. Such a luxury.
Sometimes I get ideas for something I think I might need to bake - like that sinfully delicious caramel cake recipe in the Lee Brothers book (I purposefully did NOT show it to you so you won't be tempted). If you INSIST on seeing it, even after I have warned you about it, you can click right here.
Will be drooling whilst I wait to see what you bake!

Are you going to be making that caramel cake?? I LOVE the library. and I do what you do-come home with stacks of books--and then decide when I get home if I really like them or not. We have a really good library where I live. When I lived in Texas I was appalled to hear mothers with small children say they had never been to the library.

When caramel is mentioned in polite conversation I get weak in the knees...there is something SO seductive about caramel...I find it irresistible, however, I will not be making that cake...I don't bake. Sorry, it requires measuring. I have an aversion to measuring, so that's my story & I'm sticking to it.
If you bake it, I do want to hear all about it. Then you can mail it to me.

I think the best option to that cake is to buy a block of solid caramel from King Arthur and Just Eat It says this caramel lovin' woman.

Such a great idea and a very good way of looking on it. I always spent ages choosing books at the library and then didn't like the ones I picked, I should have been freer in my selections and attitude! xx
