Dear sister:
If someone would have already invented a transporter machine, like in star trek, I would beam myself over there to help you celebrate your birthday tomorrow. I would bring mom's special hair scissors and give your bangs a trim just like in the photo below. I think while the rest of us kids were at school, on this day in 1967, the two of you were sharing a special snack.
If I was coming, after I trimmed your bangs, I would go into the kitchen at Moss Cottage and make you a spice cake with Penuche frosting. You could sit at the round table and sketch while I made it. We'd talk about all the birthdays you've had so far in your life. Maybe we'd have a cafe con leche (with extra milk for you) and watch Corky and Wyatt scamper around out back. If you wanted to, after we ate cake, we could play pin the tail on the donkey.
Happy Birthday sister! I hope it's a good one, even if I am not there to celebrate as I have described above. Maybe Pam can make the cake? I know she will want to play pin the tail on the donkey, for sure.

i'm totally down for pin the tail on the donkey, and am now adding scissors and a comb to my little art bag (how hard can it be? hahahah) - pretty sure i won't be sticking around after the hair trim for cake, i'll be put with the cats for sure....happy birthday MA!!!! car is packed for early arrival!
