Sunday, during FaceTime SketchTime, I colored in flowers as well as vegetables.
If I wait a week between sketching and coloring my water soluble ink runs less. Yes. I know I could use a different pen and ink but I do love this one so.
I also drew a bird with watercolor and then dropped the brush on the page when I was labeling it.
We also had a discusion about the very fine line between sheer genious and delusion when it comes to sketching. I think that may have been when I dropped the paint brush. But it could also have been when I noticed the foliage on the tree bore a striking resemblance to a broccoli stalk.
Next week I am going to draw a butterfly. Either that, or a statue of the Virgin Mary. Whichever one is least likely to turn out looking like broccoli.
Dear Carol, here is a relevant quote for you to ponder:
The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke.
- Jerzy Kosinski
Art should be liberating and the beauty of that is that if what we make and share
Brings a smile and strikes a resonance in the heart of another, art happens.

Love your sketches! The Robin is fabulous! You should be proud. Maybe the tree the Robin is perched on is a Broccoli tree? Who knows?
