There's a bumper crop of coneflowers growing up on top of the rock wall in the backyard.
Some have thick petals and some have thin. Some go up and some go down. Some petals are swirly and some are totally gnarly.
I like them all. No matter the shape or the size. If you live where the summer is hot and dry, and you want something that will bloom during the dog days of summer, plant a few of these.
As I was listening to your words, and studying the cornflowers, I found myself saying, "just like people!"

I love one flowers-the lavender with the orange centers--yummy combo--and you are right-in the hot summer when all else fails you can always depend on the cone flowers!!
