Before the hard freeze hit this past week, I got real clever, and brought in this geranium from the front porch
...and gave it a haircut
...so I could take some cuttings to root for next year's front porch geraniums.
I hated to do it because it was so pretty (even though it doesn't look like it after the haircut), but it would have died completely in the freeze.
I am enjoying the last of the blooms indoors now, and come next spring I will have two geraniums to put in pots on the front porch.
I know I could buy big huge healthy geraniums next year but this is a special geranium from Arkansas. I am on a mission to see how long I can keep it going.
P.S. Marti Huff the geranium above is for you. Happy 92nd Birthday. When are we getting together for lunch?
I'm rooting for these geraniums!.... get it ...rooting?
This might be one of the most worthy missions I've witnessed. PLEASE keep us posted! And I will contact the birthday girl for our next lunch date!
