It's been way too long since I made this. When I first got the recipe from Dottie and made it, I thought it was dreamy delicious. I'm not sure why it's taken me so long to make it again. Oh wait, that's right, my love affair with cauliflower in soup, butternut squash bisque, and tomato, zucchini, and mushroom soups. I didn't have an opening in the soup rotation in other words. But today I pushed things out of the way. I made room.
After rinsing the peas and throwing them in a pot along with most of the other stuff and cooking for awhile, I ended up with this. A rich, thick, creamy, savory soup that still has some texture. Just as good as I remember. Maybe better.
In other Saturday business, with 2 inches left to go on the poncho, I took a knitting detour and dove into this ball of yarn that I have been wondering what to do with. Such a lovely conundrum to have.
I only have 2 ounces so decided to "expand it" with a little bit of this left over brown.
I am casting on with the brown, knitting with the colored stuff until I have one ounce left and hoping that will be enough to make a little pair of wristlets.
So far, so good.
Oh I love that ball of yarn and it coordinates very well with the soup! Now not being a knitter I am guessing you are making socks?

Thanks for mentioning this soup. I haven't made it in a while, since you last mentioned it on your blog. It's a great one! I'll have to get a pot going real soon.
I can definitely relate to starting on a new knitting project, while working on something else. I often run to the call of a luscious ball of yarn, or exciting new pattern. The colors of your yarn go very well, with the colors of the soup! No wonder your were drawn to work with it now!
