Happy Cinco de Mayo from Lawrence Kansas where we are getting ready to have a Mexican Fiesta in honor of all my ancestors as well as Ignacio Zaragoza who is likely NOT related to me but I will have to ask Dottie to be sure.
I lament the lack of a good Corona for this meal but since I was unable to drink an entire 4 pack of Tank 7 last weekend I will be finishing it up tonight. In addition to not completing the 4 pack, I did not beat my brother in Words with Friends, and in fact he has won the last 4 games. But I remain hopeful. Ever the optimist.
I did however, go to the fabric store and select fabric for my next big sewing project. I think I was drawn to this fabric because it reminded me of the maxi skirt I made when I was about 13 that I wore for a folk group concert.
It was a great concert. If I close my eyes I can recall all of us walking in clapping our hands, playing guitars, or shaking a tambourine. If I feel as good in this top as I did in that skirt, I will be wearing it for years to come.
Carol, happy belated Cinco de Mayo. Last night here in Austin Tx. I did drink a Coronita (baby beer) with my Mexican feast. If you haven't heard this song..or even if you have, I suggest you watch this You-tube version of Pico de Gallo. It cracks me up every time.

I love how you related the story of the skirt and added the memory to a new top you are making... that's not far short of supreme Brilliance :)
