For the record, I am not complaining. But I am ready for just a smidge more fall crispness in the air.
As we speak, the reds and oranges are coming more from the still flowering bougainvillea, in pots on the back deck, than from the maple tree in the front yard. Some years are like that.
I'm going with the flow. Taking what I can get. Going back and forth between the heat and the air conditioning when the extremes on either side become too much. Alternating between wanting meatloaf, mashed potatoes, and lima beans for supper and a big salad with cucumbers, tomatoes, feta cheese, and black beans.
For the record I will still take pumpkin pie for dessert after either of those meals. I'm very late with making one yet this year. I intend to remedy that this week. Whether it's 48 or 76 degrees outside.
