This morning, while I unloaded the dishwasher, then ate my breakfast, I listened to the last 40 minutes of The Likeness by Tana French.
Oh how I hated for it to end. Except that it was already 13 days overdue. Please accept my most sincere apologies person who has been waiting for it. I gladly forked over the $1.50 in late fees when I returned it. This is the first book I have read/listened to by Tana French. It will not be my last. It is the second in the "Dublin Murder Squad" series, and I am going to reserve the first book as soon as I finish this post.
The mystery is set in and around Dublin and from the very beginning I felt as if the story was unfolding right in front of me. Like I was one of the characters who just didn't have any lines. The narrator, Heather O'Neill has the perfect Irish brogue which added an element to the experience I am not sure would have been there if I had been reading it. If you are someone who likes audiobooks you are going to adore this one. I am delighted to have discovered a new series. Thank you to the person who recommended it to my sister in the comments section of one of her posts sometime in the last 3 months. If I wasn't so lazy I would go look and see exactly who it was and thank you personally. Highly recommended.
