The Nicodemus Buffalo Soldiers were one of my favorite parts of the Old Fashioned Christmas parade in Lawrence yesterday.
We were two of the many who gathered on Massachusetts street to watch.
Hats, mittens, and scarves were required.
This was the perfect combination of horse and people watching, with just the right amount of "Merry Christmas-ing" thrown in to put us in a jolly frame of mind. When we got home Chris made a chocolate cake. I suggested this be a regular part of the annual Old Fashioned Christmas parade festivities. He agreed wholeheartedly.
So many great crowd and parade photos but I think the 2nd photo (not the video) wins the prize!! i had to look at it for a bit to figure it out!! and chocolate cake after the parade--a very good choice!

Great photos. It looks like a wonderful time for you and your town. And the chocolate cake idea is a very good one. I agree that it ought to be part of that annual parade tradition going forward.

So many horses! Yay! I loved the tiny one, and the ones with fancy manes, and the ones who clearly have their winter coats.....
Thank you for taking us along.

So wonderful Carol!
Thank you for sharing so many great shots.
I agree with Janet, the mysterious black legs is a winner.
