Printing off photos today. Sewing stuff in the Lummi Island travel journal. Oh it's fun sewing photos in this journal! The key is being able to take the signatures out to maneuver through the machine. You see those red clips in the photo below? I got them for quilting. They work even better for holding papers in place when I am sewing! Sister - you want I should send you some?
Anyhoo... while I was going through photos I realized that I hadn't talked about the Lavender Farm on Lummi island.
We saw the lavender farm lady at the farmers market. With a basket full of bundles.
She said "it's all in bloom right now, you should stop by to see it".
Not being the sort of folks that turn down a personal invitation, we pulled in the driveway when we saw it on the way home from a drive down Wild Wabbit Woad. I am not kidding about that name. But that's another story for another time.
We ran our hands over the tops of the plants. We breathed in deeply.
They had hydrangeas too by the way.
But the lavender, oh it was amazing.
We listened to the buzzing bees.
We stared off into distance, at the islands. Purple, green, blue, more purple. Beautiful, beautiful, and beautiful.
Add this to your list of things to do when you visit.
Gorgeous, could almost smell the lavender.

Lavender! I'd love to live among fields like that. I have a medium sized bush in my front yard. Unfortunately, it is also loved by a small caterpillar which then turns into a delightful moth. Sharing can be hard sometimes.
Those clips - I discovered those too. Perfect for holding paper scraps while maneuvering the journal, or just thinking and staring.
