Saturday morning, while I was getting a hair cut, Jami and I got into a deep discussion about brownies.
Which is why, at the peak of pumpkin season, I had to do this.
Jami falls into the brownie "purist" camp. That means a really good chocolate, no additions to the batter, and more fudge than cake in regards to texture.
I, on the other hand, will use what is in the pantry, even if the stamp on the box of chocolate says good until February 2017.
Given the option I will ALWAYS want walnuts in my brownies.
I have also been known to add coconut or a swirl of cream cheese. But not this time.
This is just a good basic brownie. Like the kind Angie used to bake and freeze when we had company coming.
The perfect cross between a cake brownie and a more chewy, fudge brownie.
I drank coffee in a pumpkin mug while I ate mine. I think it made them taste even better. Recipe below if you are interested.
Hubby would so love these. May just need to whip some up for him.
