Elf #2 was completed last night while we were watching the “I Love Lucy” and “Dick Van Dyke” Christmas specials.
Elf #1 was very clear about the need for a companion.
Once you get the hang of it, they are ridiculously fun to make.
Just so you know, they are as cute from the back as they are from the front.
So you can get a better sense of the size, they fit together in the palm of my hand.
They are residing on the table in the living room where I can look at them while I sit by the fire and think about getting to work on a pumpkin pie.
And yes, I will be starting on the gold elf with the pink scarf the minute I finish this post. But not before I start the pie. Or maybe I should look up one more “old fashioned” drink recipe. I know nothing about bitters. If one of you is an expert, please advise me
They are oh so very cute! They will look even more cute, when a third one is added!

Definitely not a bitters expert. BUT back in the mid '70s I lived/studied in Dublin, and did some solo exploring of Europe. One of the popular drinks at that time featured equal parts sweet/dry vermouth with a splash of bitters. I still enjoy this, and prefer orange bitters for the splash. It falls into the aperitif category, I guess, rather than the cocktail realm. But some people add an equal amount of scotch, and that would change the label, for sure!!!! Happy holidays.
