Art retreat #6 was a rousing success. Gouache, walking, watercolor, sketching, swimming, discussions of how this tradition will continue for another 30 years. We did all that. And more.
Did I say we saw Palm Springs cats? On roofs?
Our house was perfect. Filled with light and sun, plus comfy beds, and an excellent pool/jacuzzi for synchronized water routines. I am not kidding. Sister painted Pam and I in the middle of one of our performances.
There were lemon trees out back, and palm trees, and mountains, and cacti, and all sorts of things we don’t see in January in Kansas.
Instagram and books are great inspiration at art retreat. I like to stretch my art muscles by trying things I see others do. There is a fine line between stretching and straining. Straining is not what an art trip should be about.
Not for me anyway. More photos to follow when there is time. Alas, it is back to everyday life tomorrow.
Terrific, so happy for your trio! ♥♥♥

Those journal spreads are so beautiful, but the Palm Springs/Magic mushrooms are to DIE FOR!! Very inspiring, I’m taking out my paints/crayons/pastels, etc!!
