On Saturday morning, my first stop at the farmers market was the Red Tractor Farm booth. For asparagus. First of the season.
On the way there, I walked by these tulips with a plan to circle back.
But when I walked by Moon on the Meadow, my eye was drawn first by the edible flowers, and then to the tulips.
Which look exactly like a still life by a dutch master if you ask me.
There were geraniums with the most beautiful foliage. Ever. Seriously.
The Pendleton's had the first tomato of the season, priced like the jewel that it was. If Chris hadn't already carefully planned our meals for the weekend, I would have paid that easily for a BLT in April, with a locally grown tomato.
I spotted this exceedingly good looking couple buying a pot of rosemary and used my fast talking to get them to let me take their picture.
I walked by bedding plants and boxes of spicy arugula.
Headed for Mellowfields Farm for my weekly allotment of greens.
The spinach seems extra good to me this year. I think it's because it IS.
It was a perfect Saturday at the market.
Blue skies, sun, friendly faces, AND a bunch of redbud branches for the table.
Perfect! ♥
