About 6 weeks ago, in the middle of a cold snap, my knitting friends and I decided that come April we should go out to Unity Village. "We can check out the roses, walk the labyrinth, and knit in the bookstore/coffee shop".
So today we did one out of three, which we all decided was perfectly acceptable. And means that, a return visit in 6-8 weeks to check the progress of the roses will be required. Cause there were darn sure no roses today.
Joan, the newest knitter of the group, is putting all of us to shame by finishing her sweater before the rest of us are even close. Not only is this her first sweater, it's a complicated pattern, that fits perfectly, and looks amazing! You might notice that she has started another one.
Pam had me wanting to try a stranded knitting project. So amazing to watch the design come to life before our eyes. I will take more photos as she progresses. It's a Brooklyn Tweed pattern with the colorwork around the wrists as well as the neck/shoulders.
Meanwhile Ann is speeding along on a lovely cotton sweater to take on her trip to Australia this summer.
Just so you won't think I did nothing but drink chai tea lattes, take photos, and gab... here is my progress.
I thought I had only about an inch to go until I reach the underarm where things start to change.
However, when I pulled out a vest, which fits properly, I see I may need to do another 2 inches in order for it to be a length that I will be happy with. I have finally learned it pays off in the end when I check things in advance rather than rushing in the finishing.
Thanks. I have been wondering about your knitting. Was it too cold for the labyrinth? Winter keeps leaving here only to roar back for an unwanted encore.

We bounce back & forth between spring, summer, coupled with wind. mid 70's one day, 93 the next, wind 40-50 mph, makes for a very distressing spring and no fun at all.
