In full sunshine, after a rain, in the morning, or after work, in the front garden, or on the side, the Shirley poppies are just lovely. In all conditions. Under all circumstances.
Jeannette gave me these seeds about 4 years ago. I sprinkled them like she said and then left them alone. The birds have carried them around to different spots this year. I like where they planted them. I shall continue to leave them alone.
i love poppies! they don't grow in my yard though...all clay.

I had a bumper crop last year, so I saved some of the seed and sprinkled it in the front garden last February...saying to myself, better write this down so I remember what this is. Hah! When they germinated very thickly, this spring, I hoed them out, thinking it must be some noxious weed to germinate so thick!
A few days later, I consulted my garden records and discovered that I cannot be saved from myself!

Have tried to grow these beauties, but have had no luck, so far. Will try, try again.
