The very second the woman (who spoke no English) checked us into our place in Wallgau, and showed us (using hand signals) how to work the stove, run the washer/dryer, connect to the WiFi, and operate the lock on the door as well as open the windows, we headed outside to explore our neighborhood.
And what a place it was.
Beauty like this is universal, no words were needed to express our pleasure.
We pointed.
We squealed.
We said "look at that!" and "but did you see this?!"
And whenever we spied people in their traditional clothing we got extremely excited but played it totally cool like these are things we see every single day at home.
Once again, I have to thank my sister, the vacation rental master, for finding us such an idyllic spot. We found Wallgau to be the perfect village from which to explore Bavaria. You can do as much or as little as you like. Stay tuned for more tales in the days to come about our adventures, and the lovely people we met.
Wonderful!
