Before we get so far away from Thanksgiving, and talk of things we are grateful for, and whispers of things we hope for, let me share this little jewel from Matthew Ogle's Pome. Along with one more photograph of our beautiful fall colors this year.
little prayer
let ruin end here
let him find honey
where there was once a slaughter
let him enter the lion's cage
& find a field of lilacs
let this be the healing
& if not let it be
Danez Smith (2017)
The poem is lovely. But your sharing of Matthew Ogle is a splendid gift. I was upset when Garrison Keillor's "writers almanac" was dropped, and then delighted to find it as a daily email. So now I have TWO daily shots of poetry!!!!
