These days between Christmas and New Years, when we might have the luxury of an extra day off, are meant for sitting, staring, reading, thinking. To that end, I share with you today a most wonderful gift. A box full of ideas to contemplate. This was shared with me by my sister Dottie.
I can never thank her enough for the things she shares with me. And that she knows me well enough to know exactly what will speak to me. Things like this selection from William Powers (included in video below).
"...in books I discovered that my inside self had a name, it was called a soul. Even more amazing, it turned out that other people had souls too. From then on, anytime I felt lost, a stranger in the world, I would sit quietly with a book and be reminded I was not the only one. That's why books were invented, so our souls could talk to each other. Books help our inside selves meet up and find our way together through life. That's why we love them so much..."

If you enjoy this as much as I did, you can thank Dottie.
I am a voracious reader. I so enjoyed the New York Public Library Vimeo about The Velocity of Being. I could identify with each letter read. What a joy. I am so thankful to Dottie for sharing it with you and that you shared it with your readers.
