Today I am unpacking from my 3 days in Atlanta attending the 20th annual CAPC (Center to Advance Palliative Care) conference. None of the other attendees was taking notes in a shockingly pink, flowered, Nathalie Lete notebook, featuring a kitty with a pocketbook in a dress on front. But I did see longing glances when I pulled it out at each session.
A pretty notebook, with nice paper, and a good pen make every seminar better. If you are staying in a hotel with a view like this, that helps too.
Oh but it is good to be home, back to routines.
Working on sleeve #2 for a sweater which I hoped to have finished on the plane, but decided I needed to have sleeve #1 for comparison at a crucial point before proceeding. Which in retrospect was a wise move.
During my absence someone/thing helped themselves to my decorative gourds on the front porch. I appreciate the fact that they didn't upset the entire basket.
While we are on the topic of tasty treats, if you are ever in Atlanta, do yourself the favor of going to Two Urban Licks for a meal. Get the salmon chips to start followed by the bronzed scallops with gouda grits surrounded by a smoked tomato broth. And if you leave without a taste of the sweet potato cheesecake you will be sorry for the rest of your life. Trust me.
