These are the last of the photos from art retreat #8 in Montecito, where there are so many beautiful spots to stroll. Like Sheffield Reservoir below. When you pass your hands over the shrubs they release all sorts of herbaceous aromas.
The older I get the more I appreciate what I am surrounded by on a walk.
Because the beaches seem extra special here in the Santa Barbara area. I am closing out the art retreat posts with this sunrise.
It was cold when we got there. And dark.
Watching the sun come up never seems to get old.
Why do I continue to be so amazed by it?
Oh that's right because of this.
And continuing to turn around as we walked back and seeing this.
Next year we have agreed we must go back to Palm Springs for Art Retreat #9. Which by no means eliminates the option of returning to the beaches anytime in the coming year for an extra visit. Life is short and I haven't seen my quota of sunrises over the ocean yet.
Sunrise sparks something primal, I think. You made it thru the dark uncertain night and the return of the light lifts your spirits.
