Well, I am glad I decided to give Renee Ballard (Michael Connelly's newest protagonist) another chance. In the second book she is featured in, Dark Sacred Night, Harry Bosch is also along for the ride and they make for pretty good "partners". At the end of the book we also find out that since they worked together so well finding Daisy Clayton's killer, they are going to continue their sleuthing efforts in a sort of "off the record" fashion. Finding justice for the victims of crime, even if it sometimes means bending the rules a teeny bit.
That's one of the advantages of starting a series after the first several books have been published. There is already another novel out featuring both of them - The Night Fire. I am saving it for a bit, but am looking forward to seeing what direction Michael Connelly continues to move with them. Good stuff.
