I did unpin my blocked botanical cowl from the floor and wear it last week. It is a perfect weight, did not get too hot all day long, and in fact, I liked it enough to know that I will make a similar style, different pattern, to wear through the spring, and maybe even in summer when the air conditioning is sometimes too cool.
I got the yarn at a local yarn store in Lake Tahoe so won't be able to tell you where you can get that. But I will tell you it is the perfect pattern for that skein of fingering weight you picked up because you couldn't resist it and haven't been able to figure out what to make with it.
This image provided so you can better see how the scarf lays overall. A nice thing about this cowl is you just loop it around twice. No tying, no knot coming undone. It stays in place. No fuss. No muss. The picture taking on the other hand did involve some fuss. Here were my instruction from Chris - "chin down, less teeth, shoulders up, head back". No wonder I look like I have some sort of spasm, somewhere.
Pattern available here as a free download on Ravelry. A very enjoyable knit.
A good model, photographer relationship! ;o)
