Memorial Day poppies burst upon the scene in the back garden the other day. These are volunteers that re-seeded from last year.
What I have learned about poppies, is that the longer they are in a place, the more they settle in...
...and the better they do.
From the looks of it, there will be a few more blooms on this plant.
But seriously, it there are only two, won't these two be so enough?
The original seeds from these poppies came from Jeannette Sclar, many moons ago. I have spread some around when I cut down the dried pods each year but I never deliberately put any here. Apparently the birds (or the wind) knew this would be a good spot.
So beautiful, thank you, Carol.

So great to see you enjoying them still! I went a little overboard this year sprinkling them everywhere...had to pull some out of the tomato patch.
