A few more glimpses of days spent in the Ozarks. It was a perfect blend of sunny days with blue skies and cloudy/rainy days. Time for walks and time for playing Farkle, Scattergories, and Mexican Train dominoes.
Someone in my knitting class (which hasn't met for many moons) mentioned baking a whole pumpkin that had been seeded then stuffed with bread and cheese and baked. Does that not sound dreamy? When I saw all the pumpkins around I wished had thought to make it while we were on vacation. I have it on my list of things to try before next October so I can see if it's "worthy" of a Moss family gathering.
This was a lovely scene on one of our morning walks. A lone fisherman, in a perfect location, enjoying the moment.
This was a perfect escape from the last 9 months. No television or other unworthy distractions. We all recognize that we are living in the most uncertain of times and counted our blessings for yet another chance to be together.
Here's hoping, for many years to come, one of us will always have the wherewithal to recall and execute rabbit ears in at least one picture. The life extending benefits of juvenile behaviors have not been documented in the medical literature, but I feel certain there is a strong correlation.
While I am at it, Happy Birthday Dad. For your birthday dinner we are having ham with grits and red-eye gravy, slow cooked collard greens, and cornbread. Dessert as you already know, will be banana pudding, eaten right on your dinner plate since you never did believe in dirtying a plate unnecessarily. Besides, you might need a few more bites of salty ham while you are having dessert, the dinner plate allows space for that too.
WOnderful, you are so good at pinpointing what is really important.
