Just in time for cooler temperatures, in a manner most unlike myself (in terms of getting the timing right), I finished seaming and blocking the Haskell cardigan that I started last year. The look on my face says everything you need to know about how I feel about this sweater.
First of all, it's a great color for right now. This is Brooklyn Tweed Quarry and the colorway is Sulphur.
Brooklyn Tweed patterns, in my opinion, are very well thought out for the best fit. They always challenge me a little and I do sometimes have to start over a few times before I get it just right.
It fits like a jacket, and the yarn is lightweight and breathable. Warm but not too hot if that makes any sense at all.
I took it for a spin today when Chris and I went for a walk. I love it when a garment that has taken a considerable amount of time to complete, turns out exactly like I had wanted it to. If you are a knitter, you know that doesn't always happen.
Pattern shown above is available from Ravelry, your Local Yarn Store, or the Brooklyn Tweed web site. Another thing I love about Brooklyn Tweed is how they send a trunk show of their finished patterns around to local yarn stores so you can see them "in real life". Seeing this sweater at the Yarn Barn in downtown Lawrence is what made me want to try and make it.
Well done, it's beautiful, Carol.
