There is no other flower that really screams SPRING to me than tulips. Daffodils are nice but not as cheerful as tulips.

Tulips are my faves. I also like them when the petals dry and the stalks go wayward. They have such a particular simple Beauty, as you say - in each stage. x x x

Do you do that thing to keep tulips for longer? You make a tiny incision at the base of the flower with a pin or a knife tip. It's supposed to stop them growing and drooping. I'm doing it for the first time and don't know yet if it will work.
It does seem a bit cruel but that's probably silly.
