Wandering around halfway between aimlessly and purposefully is one of the things Sister and I enjoy doing when we spend time together. This is some of the stuff we saw on one such excursion in and around Santa Barbara.
There is no end to the enjoyment to be had in strolling around neighborhoods that are unlike mine.
Looking out over the ocean from above, is as delightful as staring at it eye to eye. Do oceans have eyes?
These blooming aeoniums look otherworldly to a Kansas gardener.
There will be a few more posts on the subject of erratic prowls in the weeks to come, stay tuned. Meanwhile it's back to garden clean up here in Kansas. Nothing like great inspiration from a trip to give me that extra push to get started.
Since I'm originally from Oxnard, less than an hour from Santa Barbara, these photos are so evocative for me. Very different architecture from what we see here in Australia, though they have many of the same gorgeous plants. Thanks for this blast from the past, taking me back to my salad days!

Isn't Santa Barbara beautiful? One of our favorites there, in addition to the Santa Barbara Museum of Natural History is Lazy Acres Market https://lazyacres.com/our-offerings/bakery/ Warm chocolate chip cookies with walnuts and some spectacular vegan specialties. All this and the ocean too! Thanks for sharing.

Susan: we LOVE lazy acres market and Mesa Verde (vegan restaurant close to lazy acres - it is fabulous. Agree with the SB museum of natural history too.
