This week has marked the return of the mini flower arrangements at work. My friend Nancy taught me about the joy of making these years ago. Her first arrangements in spring usually feature pansies. A flower you would not always think to put into a teeny tiny bottle and bring inside.
It is not possible to tell you how looking over at her desk, next to mine, and seeing her arrangements makes me feel. It's not just that they are simple, tender, beautiful. It is her special mark on the world that she has passed on and will be forever a part of me and us and our friendship.
So, today I give you Nancy. The always and forever Queen of small flower arrangements.
